Poseidon Med II was presented at the 3rd International Conference, Ports, Maritime Transport & Insularity, that took place in Piraeus, 19th and 20th of April, 2018. The main objective of the conference was to highlight the vital role of ports and shipping in shaping a development strategy in the European and Mediterranean regions, exploiting the comparative advantages of the regions and improving the competitiveness of economic actors in the context of sustainable development. Ms. Maria Theodoridou, Member of the Poseidon Med II Project Management Team of DEPA presented Poseidon Med II, which is the largest EU co-financed project for LNG Bunkering Project in the East Mediterranean and mentioned the recent developments in the European industry. She stressed that “LNG as a marine fuel” is an emerging market that offers new opportunities for development, investments, and know-how in new technologies, further strengthening the global leadership position of Greek Shipping.
