Poseidon Med II was presented at Eurasian Natural Gas Infrastructure Conference in Milan.
The Eurasian Natural Gas Infrastructure (ENGI) Conference is dedicated to the realisation of existing and future gas projects in Eurasia. The 2017 Conference, which took place in Milan on 30th May, has offered a focus natural gas supply strategies, transmission & storage and LNG infrastructure. Panayiotis Mitrou, Lloyd’s Register’s Technology & Innovation Manager, Marine & Offshore for South Europe, presented the “Small-scale LNG in East-Med: projects & solutions, the Poseidon Med II case”. During his presentation, he highlighted LR’s work on safety studies, navigational simulations, shipyard assessments within Poseidon Med II project as well as aspects of the floating units for storage and/or regasification (FSRUs). The need for availability of small scale LNG carriers as soon as possible, was also emphasised. “Without ships we cannot credibly aspire the development of a small scale market for LNG”, he underlined.
